Property maintenance work-order report
Property managers often need a clear note trail after a rental repair. A work-order report should connect requested tasks, status, work notes, outstanding approvals, and photos without replacing the contractor's invoice or the manager's inspection process.
Original work-order example
| Requested task | Status | What to write |
|---|---|---|
| Patch hallway drywall dents | Completed | Filled two small dents, sanded smooth, ready for paint touch-up. |
| Check slow bathroom sink drain | Partially completed | Removed visible debris; flow improved but still slow during short test. |
| Replace missing outlet cover | Completed | Installed standard cover and confirmed plate is secure. |
Practical template
Start with the work-order number, property/job label, contractor name, service date, and existing invoice reference. Then list each requested task with a status and one plain-language note. Put recommendations or approval-needed items under a separate outstanding-work heading.
